The Magic Behind the Curtain: How It Works
You don’t need to be a cryptographer to use Private Mode. We’ve handled the heavy lifting so you can stay invisible with a single toggle.
Think of Private Mode as a “Layered Tunnel”. When you send or swap assets:
- The Entry: Your assets enter a secure, non-custodial staging area.
- The Shuffling: Your transaction is routed across two off-chain non-custodial CEX partners and three separate blockchains.
- The Exit: The assets appear at the destination address from a completely fresh, "clean" source.
What makes it private:
- No Direct Link: The sender and receiver never appear in the same transaction nor transaction trail.
- No Transaction Markers: There are no deterministic data markers. Both The Entry and The Exit of the transaction are unique and appear to end, so it’s impossible for observers to prove that they are part of the same swap. To an outside observer, each leg looks like a standard, unrelated transaction.
- Infinite Anonymity Set: Even if an observer determined it was a Houdini Swap transaction, The Exit transaction could be on any chain, denominated in any token. The Anonymity set is bootstrapped by the entirety of web3 (i.e. infinite) since our Private Mode covers 100+ chains and thousands of tokens (which Houdini Swap currently supports).
